Story Behind This Painting: My husband and I took a river cruise in Luxembourg and Germany at the end of 2017. I photographed this swan as the sun was setting. This painting is about pattern and light. The calm demeanor of the white swan is a nice contrast to the busy pattern in the peach colored water. I was fascinated by the patterns in the water and the beautiful glow on the white swan. I enjoyed trying some new color mixes to portray the sunset on the water and glowing feathers on the swan. Creating a blurred look while still keeping the pattern in the background water was a fun challenge.
