Story Behind This Painting: This reference photo was from a trip down to New Mexico. While there I spied this prickly pear cactus with vibrant orange-red blooms. I took several shots and then combined them to create a pleasing composition. I really like the combination of the cool greens with the warm reds in this sunlit scene.
