Story Behind This Painting: This Rufous hummingbird was a visitor to my backyard last summer. He was really enjoying the nectar from the Salvia flowers in my garden. I took this photo on a bright, sunny day, and captured the in focus hummingbird with a blurry background of garden flowers. Rufous hummingbirds are feisty little birds that fight other hummingbirds for their territory. I enjoy watching their antics!
