Story Behind This Painting: I few years ago I started painting glass still-lifes even though I always told myself I wasn’t interested in painting still-lifes. My first interest was painting reflections in water and waterlilies. However, glass has the same kind of reflections and puzzle-like pieces that can be found in water reflections. So, now the glass still-life bug has captured me. I set this scene up with some antique bottles and bubble wrap as the foreground and background. I took many photos of the scene from lots of angles and adjusted and rearranged the bottles until I found the reflections and colors that I liked. I enjoyed the challenge of creating the realistic, shiny looking bottles.
