Story Behind This Painting: As a fun way to investigate and teach composition and design, we used fruit and set up still-lifes. I purchased a horned melon or Kiwano from my local grocery store and started laying out a set up with some limes and blueberries. When I saw all of the bright colors together in this scene, I new I would create a painting from it. I added the melting ice to create a bit of interest and add to the depth and complexity of the still-life.
